The deep support offered by a restorative yoga practice helps to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system response to minimize the effects of chronic stress. When practiced regularly, it retrains the nervous system to be in a more relaxed state. To encourage a deep release each pose is completely supported by various props. Poses are typically held for 15-40 minutes.
Yin practice focuses on deep static holds, fascia and ligaments. This practice allows for deep fascial release and an increase the flow of chi. The support of props are used as needed. Poses are held for 2-10 minutes each.
